over 3 years ago, casey tucker was thrust into the limelight after 15 years in the shadows. never truly getting the recognition for is detroit influenced and post rave sound in the 90s, for those that knoe reissued some of casey s classic material and unearthed some gems on dat in 2013. fast forward to the current day and a recent treasure trove was uncovered and some fresh dats untouched since the late 90s were discovered! ben promptly bought a dat player on ebay and shipped it to casey s home for the un-dusting to commence. fttk has worked with casey to present another round of authentic material spread across a further three eps. the track carpet dancer has been in demand since the fine balance recordings gained deserved attention. originally featuring as the a side on the very first fine balance ep, it evokes all of the emotions that caseys music can muster. juxtaposition is a slower groovy effort with meandering chords, trademark fizzy percussion and topped off with a lush string finale. whatever comes to mind rounds off the ep with a rolling percussive bassline, delicate arps and smooth sweeping pads.

starting in 1990 recording for sheffield label ozone records under the name of panic with a release called voices of energy, which was then licensed to buzz in belgium, buzz 001, buzz then went on to release classics by carl craig and derrick may. he set up his own label in the same year solid groove records. the label had 30 vinyl releases over thirteen years and tracks were licensed by derrick may, terry francis, pete tong, adam x, and carl cox.as well as this he ran another four other label s, textures, dark, dot, and cheap knob gags.

aelfric michael avery has been a self-reliant artist for a long time. the canadian producer has been exploring underground acid and rough, homemade techno since releasing his first material as avery monarch back in 1994. however it wasn’t until more than ten years later that his music would surface again on his own napalm enema label. napalm enema has also carried work by the likes of faltydl, paul blackford and mrs jynx. avery has released just as much music under his acid elf guise, most notably appearing alongside +10 acid crew (jodey kendrick) for the sought-after bruvs acid ep, and now the alias makes a welcome return to vinyl with four essential tracks from the archives. there’s a subdued, hypnotic and delirious quality to the productions on this ep for arma, ranging from the uneasy delay pulses of fetus to the metallic clamour of urban wasteland, but most importantly they’re all injected with a distinctive personality that stands apart from the 303-tweaking masses.

10th release on fasrat is the debut record of mr yo so hailing from the west pomerania region of poland (same as his label mate das komplex), rafal reich is an experienced musician. from playing piano in modern jazz groups to woodwinds in a brass band and synths in his home studio, his music displays rare sensibility and an ear for lovely melodies. delicious brings together six tracks recorded during last few years, from dreamy new age-ish soundtracks to proper balearic sunrise/sunset anthems, with obvious echoes of 70s lords of synth. cheesy, yes, but its this kind of rich, mature, delicious cheese we all like, dont we?

the fifth instalment of get physicals body language mix series comes courtesy of chateau flight, aka gilbert cohen and nicolas chaix. including exclusive remixes and tracks from fox n wolf, henrik schwarz and chateau flight themselves. nicolas and gilbert first joined forces in 1996, and over the last years they ve made quite a name for themselves as producers and remixers, not to mention djs and live performers.

bqd040.1 is a collection of remixes the label released during its early years. back then, the label intended to back up every release with a remix. the rhadoo remix was not just an amazing addition to pherox’s “gabrielle” track, but it was also featured on an ep released with new graphics. buck delivered an amazing interpretation of danilo schneider’s summer track “l’ecole”, that’s still very much a favourite at the label. last but not least, laurine frost’s remix of dana & nvelope’s “flowers”, one of dana’s first released tracks. frost gave the original a rich soundscape an extraordinary vibe. all of these remixes meant something special to the label, and now they’re all here for you to enjoy on one record…
